Charles, a regular guest at Operation Nightwatch’s evening hospitality center in our parish hall, donated $110 to support the work of St Stephen’s (StSt). Oregon Food Bank sent us a check for $850 to purchase warming trays for the kitchen.
Liz, a guest at Saturday Breakfast currently living at the YWCA shelter, wrote us this poem about her experience at StSt Table:
They reside in the Episcopal Church,
Halo-glow rises up,
Halo-glow rises up,
As they greet us in the morning,
Serving pancakes and pots of laughter,
Serving baskets of fruit and beams of joy,
Serving cups of coffee and courage.
9am Adult Inquiry resumes with “Exploration of the Book of Common Prayer,” led by Fr. Dennis. He says, “One thing that binds us together as the Anglican Communion is this book – a gift from our mother church, the Church of England. We will explore its history and several revisions up to the current 1979 edition.” All are welcome. The class meets in the parish hall between services.
Come join our nondenominational, outdoor Communion service every Sunday @ 1:30 p.m. @ SW Park between Columbia & Jefferson, rain or shine.
